Job Description

Responsibilities
Legal Strategy
  • Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and objectives.
  • Provide guidance on legal matters to support organizational goals.
Compliance
  • Ensure organizational compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Conduct legal reviews and assessments to mitigate risks.
Contracts and Agreements
  • Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts and agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure legal clarity and compliance.
Dispute Resolution
  • Lead dispute resolution processes and represent the organization in legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.
Policy Development
  • Develop and update organizational policies to reflect changes in laws and regulations.
  • Communicate policy changes to internal teams and ensure understanding and compliance.

Intellectual Property
  • Manage intellectual property matters, including trademarks and copyrights.
  • Ensure the protection of the organization’s intellectual assets.
Legal Research:
  • Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations relevant to the organization.
  • Provide proactive legal advice and updates to internal teams.
Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal practice, with a focus on nonprofit or corporate law.
  • Proven experience in leading legal initiatives and managing legal teams.
Communication Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to convey legal concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Leadership and Team Management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor legal teams.
