Job Description

Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify potential suppliers and vendors.
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and ensure sourcing meets organizational needs.
Supplier Relationship Management
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms that optimize value for the organization while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
  • Regularly assess supplier performance and address any issues to ensure continuous improvement.
Procurement Processes
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide guidance on procurement best practices
Cost Optimization
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the procurement process.
  • Analyze pricing structures, terms, and conditions to secure favorable agreements.
  • Collaborate with finance and budgeting teams to align procurement activities with financial goal
Risk Management
  • Assess and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, considering factors such as geopolitical events, market trends, and supplier stability.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and disruptions
Contract Management
  • Manage and monitor supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure contracts are comprehensive, ethical, and aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar role within the philanthropic, international development, or related sectors.
  • Understanding of global procurement practices, regulations, and ethical standards
Analytical Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret data, conduct market analysis, and make informed decisions that optimize procurement processes.
Communication Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Drafting and reviewing comprehensive contracts, maintaining clear and transparent communication throughout the procurement process.
